In the summer of 2003, we were researching how to address the growing offshore migration of services work, and at the same time seeing increasing concern from our employees about their futures. A number of clients approached us and asked us if we had any options to sending work offshore other than onsite delivery. An idea was born…

FirstShore was created to address our clients' need to reduce costs but also control risk and have real-time collaboration in the SDLC process. Our analysis showed that northeast Florida is one of the best locations in the US combining low cost of living with high-quality IT workforce. Since we are headquartered in Jacksonville, this created the opportunity to build a software development center in an offsite but onshore model.
